Bookings for 2018 are now open

The minimum booking time is 2 hours, and all hirers should allow time for setting up and clearing away within the hire period booked. There is no caretaker.  The hirer is responsible for leaving the premises clean and tidy.  Floors must be vaccummed or mopped as appropriate, and tables and chairs returned to their original positions.

Our largest hall will accommodate a maximum of 80 people

All Hirers should be aware that Heron's Lodge Guide Centre does not have a licence for the sale of alcohol or for entertainment.  It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the appropriate licences are applied for prior to the event.  Heron's Lodge Guide Centre accepts no liability for any function cancelled as a result of the appropriate licences not being obtained.

Please note that all parties must end by 11.30pm prompt, as Heron's Lodge Guide Centre is in a residential area.

The large grass area outside the building lends itself to having a marquee for larger receptions, with access to the centre for toilet and kitchen facilities.

Arriving at Heron's Lodge

On arrival you will be met by a volunteer at the site and shown around. You will be given a brief induction about the site and the relevant safety rules will be explained to you. If you are not familiar with any equipment in the house, your host will show you how to operate it before they leave you to settle in. The building is well insulated and secure, all heating and cooking appliances are electric.

Arrangements will be made with you regarding your departure.

All hirers are reminded that the centre should be fully cleaned and all bins emptied, with recycling/refuse being placed inside the relevant receptacles in the car park.  In the event of additional cleaning having to be done after your stay, you may lose your deposit cheque.  Should any damage or breakages occur during your stay please report them and we will ask for the cost of replacement or repair.

A full inventory of equipment can be supplied on booking along with a 'facts sheet' for local contacts such as Doctors, Fire, Police etc.  For the safety and convenience of all hirers, Heron's Lodge Guide Centre supplies all cleaning materials for use in the building.  These items, along with mops, buckets, vacuum cleaners and brooms, are kept in the cleaning cupboard.

You are expected to bring your own black sacks, toilet rolls and washing up liquid.
